European School Copenhagen – Maths and Science Teacher and Co-Teacher (Secondary)
European School Copenhagen is seeking a qualified and motivated Maths and Science Teacher and Co-Teacher for the Secondary department (Grades 6–9).
The successful candidate will teach a combination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, and Integrated Science both as a standalone teacher and as a co-teacher.
All teaching in this position will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Danish and/or French would be considered an advantage.
This is a permanent, full-time position starting on 1 August 2026.
We are looking for a teacher who
- holds relevant teaching qualifications in Maths and/or Science at lower secondary level (Folkeskolen, Grades 6-9)
- has experience teaching these subjects from grades 6-9
- brings a positive, proactive approach to the classroom
- can foster curiosity, engagement, and confidence in both Maths and Science
- places strong emphasis on students’ learning, development, and wellbeing in line with the school’s values
- is motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of the school
- demonstrates strong collaboration skills and thrives in a team-based environment
- is comfortable working in an international and intercultural setting
- is independent, flexible, and able to navigate a dynamic school context

- have experience in international or intercultural education
- possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- are confident users of IT in teaching and learning
- prioritise hands-on, inquiry-based learning and real-world application of knowledge

About the school
European School Copenhagen (ESC) is an international, publicly funded school established by the City of Copenhagen in 2014. The school offers three language sections – English, French, and Danish – from nursery to upper secondary level (S7/3.g).

Terms of employment
