IOC has on the occation of the IOC Congress in Copenhagen donated 115 trees - one per IOC member - to the City of Copenhagen. Lord Mayor Ritt Bjerregaard and IOC-president Jacques Rogge jointly planted the first five trees this morning at DSB-grunden, 2200 Copenhagen N

28/9: A Kick for Women's Sports

Press release: Women’s Soccer is Healthy Fun and 200 million Euros invested in The World Village of Women Sports

Dear participant,

The city of Copenhagen welcomes you to the IOC congress. We hope you’ll have some great days in our wonderful city.

2009 is the Year of Sport in Denmark. Earlier this summer Copenhagen hosted the Outgames. And just a few weeks ago, in August, the street sport-festival "Copenhagen Moves" claimed the streets. In October it’s all about the IOC congress.

In Copenhagen we would like to involve our citizens and our visitors in the exciting activities surrounding the IOC. I will participate in many of them and hope that you will join me to as many events as possible. These activities include:

• September 30th at 14:30 to 16 - Copenhagen 2009 School Games at Østerbro Stadium
• October 1st at 11:30 to 13 - CPH Bike tour from the Bella Center to the City Hall Square
• October 2nd at 16:30 to 18 - "Healthy Fun"- Football during Copenhagen Countdown at the City Hall Square
• October 3rd at 12 to 14 - Youth Games of Danish Towns at the City Hall Square
