New in Copenhagen

You can reach Copenhagen from the air, from the seaward side and from the landward side.
International trains take you to Copenhagen Central Station, and if you arrive by car, Zealand is connected with Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia by the Oresund bridge and with the remaining parts of Denmark and Central Europe by the Great Belt Link, ferries and other bridges.

Regardless of how you reach Copenhagen, the City strives to make your arrival as smooth and positive an experience as possible. We therefore recommend you to contact the authorities listed on the next pages, if you are planning to come to Copenhagen to live for a shorter or longer period of time.

However, before leaving your home country, you need to prepare your arrival to Denmark and Copenhagen and carefully examine the conditions for obtaining a visa, a residence permit or a work permit. In particular, you should be aware of maximum processing times on the different types of permits.
