Libraries: Borrow Books for Free
At the local libraries, both children and adults living in Copenhagen can borrow books, music, movies, games and much more - all for free. The loan period is usually one month. It is possible to borrow materials in many different languages. Moreover, the library offers reading facilities with newspapers, the use of computers with internet access and help with literature searches. Cultural Centers: Get Involved in Local Culture

Sports Facilities and Swimming Pools: Sport in Many Ways

Get Involved in Clubs and Associations!
Associations in Copenhagen offer activities and opportunities of all kind - such as soccer, scouts, tennis, swimming, music lessons or dance. Activities are often the setting for a rich social life and provides excellent opportunities for meeting other people.

Support for Associations
The City of Copenhagen subsidizes association based sport and leisure activities If you want to start your own football club, badminton club or cultural association, you can get help to constitute the association and apply for approval as a civic association. Support for Cultural Projects
The City of Copenhagen support cultural life, making it possible to offer art and cultural experiences that create joy, activates and challenges. In the Culture and Leisure department, there are different ways of getting funding in the fields of music, performing arts and visual arts.

Help and Advice
The Project Workshop Team – ProjektVærkstedet - offers an hour of guidance and counseling to all Copenhageners who want to help realize non-commercial projects. In addition, ProjektVærkstedet offers special opportunities of guidance to ethnic minority associations.
