The City Council has two Deputy Chairmen:
Their role and function If the Lord Mayor is absent, the 1st deputy chairman takes over her duties, and if the 1st deputy chairman is absent, the 2nd deputy chairman takes over the rights and obligations assigned to the Lord Mayor subject to the Act on Local Government and the Administration Regulations for the Copenhagen Municipal, including the presidency of the Finance Committee and the duty to convene and chair the City Council meetings. Furthermore, the deputy chairmen undertake certain representative tasks on behalf of the Lord Mayor when he/she is absent.
