The Finance Administration
The Finance Administration is attached to the
Finance Committee
and handles the day-to-day ad-ministration of cases belonging under the Committee. A Management consisting of four members headed by the Administration’s Chief Executive carries out the day-to-day management of the Finance Administration.
Organisationally, the Finance Administration consists of five staff functions, four user-oriented centres and the Copenhagen Fire Brigade. The five staff functions are: The Management Secretariat, the Administration Secretariat, the City Council Secretariat, the Lord Mayor’s Secretariat and Communication. The four centres are: The Finance and Analysis Centre, the Urban Development and Infrastructure Centre, the Citizens’Service Centre and the Corporate Service Centre.
The Management Secretariat
serves the Finance Administration Management and the group of Chief Executives of the City of Copenhagen.
The Administration Secretariat
serves the Finance Administration. It relates to the Administration’s staff and management development, project organisation and financial management.
The City Council Secretariat
handles secretarial tasks for the City Council, the Finance Committee and the Election Committee. The secretariat serves the Lord Mayor as Chairperson of the City Council and the Finance Committee and also assists and advises the other members of the City Council.
The Lord Mayor’s Secretariat
handles secretarial tasks for the Lord Mayor such as the Lord Mayor’s meetings, inquiries from the press and citizens, articles and speeches.
Communication
takes care of strategic communication tasks both internally in the Finance Administration and across sectors within the City of Copenhagen. These are for instance the development and implementation of the municipality’s communications policy, its internet and intranet and design as well as publications.
The Finance and Analysis Centre
is responsible for tasks concerning the City of Copenhagen’s overall budget, accounts, prognoses and analyses, monitoring of committees, development of financial management, debt and liquidity. Furthermore, the Centre handles tasks concerning the municipality’s relationship with the National Association of Local Authorities in Denmark (KL) and KKR, regional collaboration, international relations and industrial development policy.
The Urban Development and Infrastructure Centre
is responsible for tasks concerning the City of Copenhagen’s urban development, housing policy, town planning, town planning operation, traffi c planning, traffi c procurement, purchase/sale of properties, emergency services and relations with the municipalities companies.
The Citizen Service Centre
is responsible for tasks concerning service to citizens, information to citizens (Copenhagen Citizens Service, Copenhagen Information Centre and City Hall Information), digital administration, development of user democracy models and local committees.
The Corporate Service Centre
is responsible for tasks that primarily cross the municipality’s sec-tors. These tasks are for instance IT support, KØR, data warehouse, procurement, pay system, duty roster, pay administration, accounts, bookkeeping, insurance, industrial injuries, staff policy, man-agement development, course activities, collective agreements and statistics.
The
Copenhagen Fire Brigade
prevents, limits and alleviates personal injuries and damage to property and the environment in case of accidents or catastrophes. The core services of the Copenhagen Fire Brigade are fire and rescue services, ambulance service, patient transport service, preventive fire service, the emergency services centre (112) and planning for the civil emergency service.
