Employment and Integration Administration

The Employment and Integration Administration is attached to the Employment and Integration Committee and handles the day-to-day administration of cases belonging under the Committee. The day-to-day management of the Employment and Integration Administration is carried out by a management consisting of three people and headed by the Administration’s Chief Executive.

The Central Administration
consists of a Management Secretariat and eight central divisions. The direct contact with the citizens is handled by a number of job-, employment- and service centres, each of which has key competences needed to fulfill and solve the needs of citizens.

The Managerial Secretariat
serves the Employment and Integration Committee, the Mayor and the Management. The secretariat is the link between the Management and the Administration’s other divisions. Furthermore, the secretariat handles the Administration’s press and media tasks.

The eight central divisions
handle the overall management and planning of the Administration’s activities and tasks including finance and accounting, IT development, HR and communication. They coordinate and develop the Administration’s service to citizens and enterprises, and coordinate the municipality’s cross-sector integration policy and activities. The divisions also serve the local employment council and collaboration with the labour market parties.

The three job centres
are the primary access-point for citizens and enterprises that wish to make use of services relating to jobs, training and labour. The job centres act as project managers for all activities for citizens with regard to employment. In connection with the job centres, the Labour Market Centre handles tasks regarding services to enterprises and intensive job seeking.

Job Centre for Sickness Benefit
and Centre for Jobs on Special Terms handle all tasks in relation to citizens who receive sickness benefit. When a citizen is on sick leave, or otherwise in danger of being excluded from the labour market, the centres serve citizens and enterprises during the whole process, or until the citizen’s situation in relation to the labour market has been clarified.

The centres for Benefit Payments
handle all tasks relating to a citizen’s current benefit payments, and reimbursement of enterprises regarding sickness benefit. Citizens in need of income support must have their possibilities in relation to the labour market clarified in one of the job centres before contacting the Benefits Office.

The three qualification-improving employment centres
carry out up-qualification activities for citizens receiving benefits, with a view to bringing the citizen back into the labour market as soon as possible.

The Language Centres
handle the teaching of Danish to adult immigrants.
