Miljø i byggeri og anlæg 2010 tager afsæt i visionerne fra Københavns Klimaplan om, at København i 2025 er CO2-neutral. Miljø i byggeri og anlæg tager også udgangspunkt i de konkrete mål som Metropol for mennesker sætter for en bæredygtig by med byrum, der inviterer til et mangfoldigt og spændende byliv. Kravene i Miljø i byggeri og anlæg 2010 er forpligtende for byggeri, ombygninger, renoveringer og anlægsarbejder, hvor Københavns Kommune er bygherre eller kontraktmæssig bruger. Kravene gælder også for byggeri, ombygninger og renoveringer, der støttes af kommunen via reglerne om byfornyelse og støttet byggeri. Retningslinjerne skal indgå som betingelse i forbindelse med udbud af kommunale bygge- og anlægsopgaver, og når der gives tilsagn om støtte til byfornyelse og alment byggeri. Private opfordres til at lade sig inspirere af retningslinjerne.

Sustainability in Construction and Civil Works 2010 deals with sustainable project design and has specific standards for energy and CO2, materials and chemicals, water and drainage, townscape, city life, nature, waste, noise, indoor climate and the construction site. The standards must be followed in new constructions, major renovations and civil works, where the municipality is the owner or the contractual user, as well as in subsidized housing and urban renewal projects.
